A vessel has an ability to contain because its form is such that it embodies an emptiness which can be replaced by something material. In this series of work I've tried to open up a vessel into a shape which can still contain something material but the vessel itself can continue to embody its emptiness. This idea has resulted in a series of abstract sculptures which are built along a hollow centre into a dynamic form.
